Have you tried making a site with blogger that looks like a regular web site. You can make one without looking like a blog that will turn out pretty good. This site you are looking at is an example. I’ll walk you through the steps so you can do it yourself. Making a site like this works out good as a one page site for miscellaneous uses. I hope this info is something that you can put to use.
1. Log in to your Blogger.com account. Click on the create a blog link. Choose a blog title that reflects what your blob is about. It would be best to choose a name that would be your key word and check it on google for popularity. I am not going to discuss how to choose best keywords here, that can be found elsewhere.
2. Use the same name for your blog as your url. You can enter it with the words run together or put a dash between each word. If someone already has the url that you want, try putting a 1 after it or something different. After you find a URL that you can use, enter the code for word verification and click continue.
3. Next choose a template, I suggest trying Minima for your site but play around with the others if you like. Click continue then click start blogging.
4. Here, click on settings and type in a short description of your site in the description box. Remember this will show up at the top or your page under the title. Scroll to bottom of page and click Save Settings.
5. You can skip the other taps because no one will be able to see any of this stuff on your site when you are finished.
6. Next click on the Layout tab. Here you click on the Blog Posts edit link. Un-check all of the boxes and click save, you are not making regular blog posts and these will get in the way.
7. On the right hand side click on and remove the Followers and Blog Archives, you don’t need them. If you click on View Blog at this point you will see a clean page. If you would prefer to use these leave them alone.
8. You can use the side bar to put stuff into by clicking the Add Gadget link and choosing from the menu.
9. For your sites content you have a couple choices, you can click on postings and put everything on one post or you can make separate posts. If you do separate posts the comments and dates will not show up because you have deactivated them. Also, and very important! If you add your content in separate posts you have to add the content that goes at the end first. You will be working from the last to the first, this way it will all show up in the correct order.
10. I like to use Statcounter for my visitor tracking. It’s free and you can put an invisible code on your site so no one can see it. You can track all the activity at Statcounter’s site. Go to Statcounter.com and sign up, its free to use and there is no limit to the number of sites you can add. For installing the code go back to Layout and click the Add a Gadget link at the bottom. Choose HTML and paste the code there and save.
11. Now to get rid of the Blogger bar at the top, you need to go to Edit HTML to enter a bit of code. While looking at the HTML scroll down just a little bit and you will see this /* Variable definitions. Immediately above that, copy and paste the code below and save template. You can view your blog to verify that it worked.
#navbar-iframe {display: none !important;}
12. If you want to go further, how about buying another web address for your site. I use Godaddy.com and buy their One Dollar .info URL’s. The last one I bought came out to $1.07 including tax and it’s good for one year before you have to renew it. What you do is take the URL and you can do a redirect and mask so your new address shows on your site instead of the Blogger address, pretty cool. Of course you can get a .com or .org address if you prefer
You should be able to go ahead and customize your site to suit you , just play around with it and see what you can do. I have made a lot of these to use for Affiliate and Adsense
sites.
